At Umingmaq Paddle Touring Center, we believe that touring the boundaries between water, earth, and sky by canoe or kayak is the ultimate form of communion with nature, friends and family. Everyone can canoe or kayak with the right equipment, instruction and attitude. Kayaks, canoes, paddles and other equipment are tools: tools to get you out there, experiencing the deeply personal connection to our natural world. We get it. We want to get you out there safely and efficiently.

We select our brands based on quality of construction, range of designs, utility, features and a focus on paddle touring. We've chosen our products by finding a balance between design, performance, weight, durability, and price. We are the sole US dealer for Gram Kajak Greenland paddles. Lars Gram of Denmark offers hand made laminated wood and hand assembled carbon fiber Greenland paddles. Gram Kajak has a strong connection to the history of kayaking, but a progressive attitude toward space age materials and construction techniques. The Gram Kajak paddles outperform other Greenland paddles on the market. Umingmaq Paddle Touring Center is proud to offer Gram Kajak paddles at Canoecopia. Umingmaq Paddle Touring Center will offer a "Special Edition" 2 part wood Greenland paddle at Canoecopia 2020.

Umingmaq Paddle Touring Center is also offering a fantastic international paddling trip to Iceland in July of 2020. Experience paddling in the Arctic waters of the WestFjords and the Eyjafjordur. Find yourself paddling with whales, seals, and seabirds of all kinds. The trip will combine several day paddling excursions with an exploration of the geology, glaciology, and culture of this island nation. The trip is designed for both paddlers and non-paddlers, so enjoyable experiences will be planned for all who come along. This trip was originally designed in response to a customer request for a trip that would fulfill his love of paddling in unique places, but still be the trip of a lifetime for his non-paddling partner. Your host, Matt Magolan, has completed extended expeditions in the Canadian Arctic & Alaska and has guided trips in Arctic Norway. Please stop by our booth at Canoecopia for further details, options, price and availability. This trip will be limited to 6 participants.

We are paddlers who love to share our knowledge of paddling and paddle touring. We will listen to you about your paddling hopes and dreams and try to give you guidance. Together with you, we'll make sure you get the very best equipment, service, instruction and outfitting for your kayaking and canoeing aspirations.
