Hornbeck Boats' line of ultralight boats were inspired by 19th century craftsmanship. Founder Peter Hornbeck learned about John Henry Rushton's designs when he moved to the Adirondack Park, but instead of wood, the first boats Pete built under a tree in his backyard were fiberglass. He later moved to Kevlar and carbon fiber in pursuit of the lightest, most durable canoe in the woods. Today at Hornbeck Boats, we continue his legacy of building ultralight Pack Canoes. Propelled using a double-bladed paddle, our boats are ideal for a wide range of paddling, whether it's pond-hopping in the Adirondack wilderness, river-tripping in the wilds of Maine, cruising the Boundary Waters of the Midwest or exploring the swamps of the South, we have the boat in the right length and depth for you. You will love being able to toss one of our boats on your shoulder between the car and water, or carrying one overhead and hands-free on a portage.
