The Minnesota Canoe Museum is dedicated to preserving and promoting the art, culture, and history of canoeing and canoe country. From the first peoples of North America who constructed both beautiful and rugged canoes, to the advent of work and recreational canoes using newer materials that continue to this day, the MCM embraces the history and culture of the canoe. Minnesota has provided a unique contribution to North American canoeing, with the BWCA Wilderness, Voyagers National Park, and other tremendous natural waters and lands, and our museum is working to continue the cultural and historical legacy of those who paddled before us, and those who will paddle after us. Our burgeoning museum is currently working towards our goal of establishing a permanent facility and exhibition hall that offers year round programming for all visitors.
