Lisa Yoder started out in a 10-foot, plastic rec boat and quickly advanced to sea kayak adventures with a local club due to their training and experience opportunities.
She has kayak-camped the Apostle Islands in Lake Superior, Everglades 10,000 Islands area, South Manitou in Lake Michigan, and Cayo Costa off Florida. She has spent most of her sea kayaking time in the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Michigan.
In 2019, she and another Indiana paddler traveled to Milos, Greece, to do a 9-day paddling adventure in the Aegean Sea. The experience was so fantastic, she and her paddling partner gathered a group of 13 Midwestern paddlers and returned in 2023 for the group adventure of a lifetime.
The group consisted of both high-level, experienced paddlers who wanted as much waves and rock gardening as possible alongside paddlers who wanted a calm-water, relaxed, adventure in the beautiful turquoise-blue waters of the Aegean. Both kinds of paddlers experienced exactly the trip of their choice each day all while paddling together.
