Verena Wildenstein and Taylor Pace met during a hiking trip in Patagonia. Verena grew up in Germany hiking in the Alps at every occasion while Taylor grew up in Ontario, Canada, but spent every summer canoeing in the Yukon and Northwest Territories. Verena recently graduated from the University of Guelph with a degree in wildlife biology while Taylor graduated from Thompson Rivers University with a degree in Tourism Management. Verena and Taylor are now second-generation owner/operators at Canoe North Adventures specializing in fully-guided, multi-day canoe and raft trips on pristine rivers in Canada's Northwest Territories. Canoe North Adventures is widely recognized as one of Canada’s top outdoor adventure operators. Verena brings meticulous planning and logistical expertise to every Canoe North Adventures trip working directly with guests to ensure they are fully prepared and stoked for their northern river adventure. From menu-planning to gear requisitioning to travel itineraries, Verena is dedicated to ensuring guests have the ultimate adventure holiday experience. Verena also oversees management of the Canoe North Adventures Outfitting Centre in Norman Wells. This world-class facility supports the launching of incredible canoe and raft trips. As Lead Guide at Canoe North Adventures, Taylor Pace loves to explore wild places by canoe and raft. From the arctic tundra to the Mackenzie Mountains, Taylor’s love of guiding river adventures has fueled his curiosity to explore even more remote and less-travelled rivers in the Canadian north. Recently, Taylor introduced expedition rafting to Canoe North Adventures on the fabled South Nahanni River. Other favourite rivers include the Broken Skull, Natla, Keele, Mountain, Horton and Coppermine River.
