Danielle Steffey's journey into paddling began in high school when she first carved a Greenland paddle and built a traditional skin-on-frame kayak. Since then, she has been a mentor at Qajaq USA events nationwide, sharing her passion for traditional paddling techniques. Danielle's love for the water extends beyond kayaking. She enjoys rowing with her hometown club on Lake Superior, frequently takes out her stand-up paddleboard, and is increasingly drawn to new adventures by canoe. Her greatest joy is setting out on extended journeys, whether across water or land, where the days stretch into weeks. What excites her most is the opportunity to explore the unknown, whether it's the landscapes she traverses or the personal growth that comes along the way.
In addition to paddling, Danielle is a dedicated instructor with the Michigan DNR's Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) program, where she helps others discover the joys of outdoor recreation. Most recently, she has embraced filmmaking as a way to connect with and inspire others to explore the outdoors and deepen their connection to nature and themselves. Through her storytelling, Danielle hopes to inspire people to make time for adventure, friendship, and the things that truly matter. |
