Nixon Lake is small by most standards, only 116 acres, and only 5 feet deep with a mucky bottom. This seemingly unattractive combination yields beautiful plant and animal life, including wild rice, which brings the ducks and geese and swans in droves. As Yoda said, "Judge me by my size, do you?" This little gem of a lake is best enjoyed low to the water, and a naturalist will make this a memorable experience.
